How much you can get
| Flight distance | Compensation |
|---|---|
| Up to 2,000 km | ₪1,250 |
| 2,000–4,500 km | ₪2,000 |
| Over 4,500 km | ₪3,000 |
Cancellations are compensated, and a flight that takes off 8 or more hours late counts as cancelled. Nothing is owed if the cancellation was announced 14 days or more ahead, or 7–14 days ahead with a replacement that takes off at most 2 hours early and lands no more than 4 hours late, or later than that with one that takes off at most 1 hour early and lands no more than 2 hours late. If you accept a replacement that lands within 2, 3 or 4 hours of the original time (by distance), the airline may halve the amount.
The amounts are linked to the consumer price index, so payments today are higher than the base figures in the law.

How to claim it yourself
Claim from the airline in writing. If it refuses, the small claims court handles these cases without a lawyer.
The claim services we work with (AirHelp, Compensair) take EU and UK cases. Under these rules you claim from the airline directly, which is free.
