SkyUp MT flight delayed or cancelled? What you can claim

SkyUp MT is an airline from Malta. Under EU261, a long delay, a late cancellation or being bumped on SkyUp MT can be worth up to €400 per passenger.

Which rules cover SkyUp MT

All SkyUp MT flights that leave the EU, Iceland, Norway or Switzerland, and all SkyUp MT flights that arrive there from elsewhere.

  • UK261£220–£520

All SkyUp MT flights that leave the UK, and all SkyUp MT flights into the UK.

  • Israel Aviation Services Law₪1,250–₪3,000

SkyUp MT flights to or from Israel; cash compensation from 8 hours of delay or a cancellation.

How to claim from SkyUp MT

Write to the airline with your booking reference, flight number and date and ask for compensation under Article 7 of Regulation 261/2004. If they refuse or don’t answer within about six weeks, complain to the national enforcement body of the country you flew from, or use a claim service.

Keep your booking reference, boarding pass and receipts for meals, hotels or taxis while you waited. Every passenger on the booking, children with a seat included, can claim the full amount.

For EU261 and UK261 cases. No win, no fee: AirHelp keeps 35% of the payout (VAT included), plus 15% if the case goes to court; Compensair keeps 30%, plus 10% if extra legal costs arise. Claiming directly from the airline is free.
