- This eSIM does not cover Northern Cyprus. If you plan to use your eSIM data for 91 days (accumulated) or more in a 120-day period, you must register your device’s IMEI number on Turkey’s Central Equipment Identification Register (CEIR) and pay a one-time tax. You currently can’t purchase eSIMs in Turkey. For seamless connectivity, please purchase and install your eSIM before you travel.
Will an eSIM work on my phone?
- iPhone: XS, XR, SE (2nd generation) and later. Not iPhones sold in mainland China, and few sold in Hong Kong or Macau.
- Google Pixel: Pixel 3 and later; some early models sold in Japan, Australia and Taiwan don’t.
- Samsung Galaxy: S20 and later, Z Flip and Z Fold, Note20, and some recent A models; versions for mainland China don’t.
- Any phone: dial *#06#; if an EID number shows, the phone supports eSIM. It must also be unlocked by your mobile operator.

How much data do you need in Turkey?
Maps, messages and some browsing use about 0.3–0.5 GB a day. Add social media and photos and it is closer to 1 GB a day; video calls and streaming use much more.

Can I keep my WhatsApp number?
Yes. WhatsApp and iMessage stay linked to your usual number; the eSIM only carries the data.
Do I need to remove my own SIM?
No. Phones that support eSIM run it next to your normal SIM. Turn off data roaming on your own line so it doesn’t charge you.
